Don't worry! This new website and shopping cart are pretty easy to understand.
We've tried to give it a logical, organized structure. It's basically built by
CATEGORY and SUB-CATEGORY.
Categories
Here's the CANDLEWAX category button. It's one of the buttons
you'll see when you click the PRODUCTS button in the menu on your left. Go ahead and click
this button now. It will open in a new window. You should see several SUB-CATEGORY buttons. One
for each of the various types of CANDLEWAX we stock.
Sub-Categories
Here's one of the CANDLEWAX sub-category buttons you saw when you
clicked the category button above. This is the CONTAINER WAX
sub-category. Go ahead and click it and then click your back button. What you
should have seen when you clicked this button is the actual SHOPPING CART pages
for CONTAINER WAX. This is where you actually would ADD products to your
SHOPPING CART. By the way, not all Categories have
sub-categories! We only use SUB-CATEGORIES where needed. The CATEGORIES
with SUB-CATEGORIES are Fragrances, Containers, Waxes and Wicks. All the
others go straight to the SHOPPING CART pages.
Discounts
Alabaster offers a number of volume discounts. The BIG difference
on this new site is that you can actually SEE all the pricing options and
discounts available AND you can order at those prices. The structure is very
simple. Alabaster, for example, offers exceptional Volume Discounts on their waxes. Those discounts
are clearly illustrated on the SHOPPING CART pages like this:

5 - 39 Cases $51.70 per case
40 + Cases $48.95 per case
This is the J300 CONTAINER WAX, which has a single case price of $54.45. If you
order 1-4 cases, that's the price that will be used in the SHOPPING CART.
However if you add 5 or more cases to your SHOPPING CART (or increase the
quantity to 5 or more cases in the cart) the net case price will
automatically drop to the correct volume price. You'll always see your
bottom line net cost in your shopping cart. This
same system is used on Volume Priced products throughout the site.
Product Options
Alabaster offers a number of pricing options. Those options appear on the
SHOPPING CART pages as drop down choices. These choices all select specific
SIZES of the product you are ordering. For example, our Fragrances are offered
in 3 different (single bottle) sizes. Those sizes are 1 oz., 4 oz. and 8 oz.. Under each Fragrance description you'll see a list of the
Available Options. That list will match the choices in the drop down
choices. And when you choose a particular option, the EXACT PRICE of that option
will appear immediately under the drop down box in red.
When you add that item to your SHOPPING CART, the
actual price you selected will appear on the order line. Immediately under the
order line you'll see the SIZE/QUANTITY OPTIONS you just added to your
SHOPPING CART.
Checkout
Just click the Checkout button when you've finished adding products to your
SHOPPING CART. You may or may not get a pop up message regarding a
SECURE
CONNECTION, depending upon your web browser settings, but the connection is
secure. Always look for the lock to be sure! It's usually in the lower right
hand corner of your screen. Never enter your credit card information if you do
NOT see this padlock symbol!
We accept MASTER, VISA, DISCOVER
credit cards. We also accept checks* and
money orders*. Cash is welcome
too if you are in the area. And, we do not process your credit card online in real time. We process credit card
transactions in our headquarters offices. With the SHOPPING CART we "securely"
collect your credit card information. It is stored in our secure servers. We log
on to this server with a user ID and PASSWORD to obtain your credit card data.
That data is then DELETED from the server. Your information is never emailed to
anyone, anywhere, anytime.
One reason for manually processing credit card transactions is that
FREIGHT MUST BE ADDED to your order. By
manually processing your transaction we can research the best and most
reasonable shipping method for your order
Shopping carts that do calculate freight automatically often, and out of
necessity, add a considerable amount of overcharge to what may be YOUR true
shipping cost. And, it is out of necessity, because UPS, for one, uses over
50,000 zip codes to calculate their accurate shipping charges. Most
automated freight shopping carts are using 7 or 8 UPS shipping zones to
determine a shipping cost. True shipping costs can vary DRAMATICALLY within
each one of those 7 or 8 zones due to various surcharges levied by UPS. So,
the vendor is forced to overcharge some to compensate for the undercharging of
others. Alabaster charges you 100% accurate freight based on your order and
your location!
